A tree squirrel from Mexico’s Pacific slope. A study in Jalisco recorded it in tropical dry forests, where it also ate fruit.
One common name for it is the Pacific gray squirrel.
In a Jalisco study, 84% of observations were of solitary squirrels, and every observed animal was 5–20 m above the ground. Fruit was also part of the diet.
The back is dark gray with a finely mixed, grizzled appearance, and the tail base has a yellow cast. The underside is white but may be light orange. Lighter tail hairs range from pale yellow-brown to white.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
