This small rodent is recorded from Brazil’s Cerrado–Amazon transition. It has also been captured in secondary forest and plantations near farmland.
The back is grizzled yellowish-brown, with dark hairs, and contrasts with the whitish underside. The tail is weakly bicolored.
Captures between 110 and 570 m came from secondary semideciduous forest at corn and soybean edges, eucalyptus plantations with herbaceous cover, and heavily altered vegetation near plantations.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
