This tanager lives in Amazonian forest and along the eastern Andean foothills. It is green with dark spots and a yellow center to the belly.
It is about 12 cm long. The mostly green bird has large, dense dusky spots on the breast and flanks, with a yellow belly center. Dusky feathers edged in blue on the back and wings create a scaled look.
It forages in the canopy at forest edges and in second growth, often with mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
