The Karoo Prinia is a small bird of scrub and tall dense growth in southern Africa. The atlas associates it with Karoo and fynbos scrub in the west and with grassland mixed with scrub in the Lesotho highlands.
Compared with similar birds, its underside is described as more strongly marked with streaks.
It uses Karoo and fynbos scrub in the west; in the Lesotho highlands it also occurs in grassland mixed with scrub. The atlas notes rank growth, especially along drainage lines.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
