This small mouse has yellow-ochre hairs on its underside. It is recorded from open-vegetation regions such as the Cerrado and Caatinga of central and northeastern Brazil and Paraguay.
The underside has yellow-ochre fur. Because it has been confused with close relatives, studies compare morphology, chromosomes, and DNA when identifying it.
It uses open vegetation in the Cerrado, Caatinga, and Chaco, and has also been recorded in forest formations along the Amazon forest transition.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
