This flying fox has specimen records from Santa Isabel and Bougainville in the Solomon Archipelago. Its original description says its fur is lighter than that of a close relative.
The description compares it with the Australian flying fox Pteropus scapulatus: they are about the same size, but this species has lighter-colored fur.
The paper suggests that small-cheek-toothed Pacific flying foxes may rely on nectar, flower clusters, and small fruits or nuts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
