The Indian Silverbill is a small finch with a pale rump and a black bill. It feeds on seeds and stays in flocks in both dry open country and places near people.
It has a small body and a fairly long tail. The back is gray-brown, the underside is pale, and the whitish rump and black-tipped bill help identify it.
It mainly eats seeds and forages in dry open areas, fields, and around settlements. It moves while searching for food in small flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
