The Tepui Goldenthroat is a hummingbird of tepuis in southern Venezuela and nearby areas, using cloud-forest edges and scrub at about 1,300–2,200 m.
At 11–12 cm, males have bronzy-green upperparts and glittering green underparts with a broad white tail band. Females have paler underparts dotted golden-green on the breast.
It visits circuits of flowering plants for nectar, catches insects in flight and gleans spiders from vegetation or rock cavities. It may disperse to different elevations after breeding.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
