This Sulawesi rat has a long muzzle and a very long tail. A 2014 survey on Mount Gandangdewata in West Sulawesi recorded six individuals across forest zones from 1,600 to 2,600 m.
It has a long, narrow muzzle, a dark facial marking, brown upperparts, and gray underparts. Its coat is soft and dense. The very long tail has a hairless patch near the tip.
A field survey in West Sulawesi caught six individuals at 1,600, 2,200, and 2,600 m in three forest zones. All six were caught at night, but capture time alone does not establish the species' general activity schedule.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
