This tanager relative lives in montane forest on the eastern Andean slope. Its yellow-olive head and back, yellowish underparts, and dense-foliage foraging are useful field marks.
It is about 14.5 cm long. The head, back, and tail are yellow-olive; the underparts and supercilium are yellowish.
It forages among thick foliage in the understory and mid-canopy of humid montane forest. It may be associated with bamboo, but the account presents that association as possible rather than certain.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
