The Skywalker hoolock gibbon is confirmed in southwestern China and Myanmar; the pattern of white facial fur differs between adult males and females.
Adult males have separated eyebrows and little white fur around the eyes and chin.
The gibbons were confirmed in seasonal montane forests in China's Gaoligong area and in lower-elevation mixed deciduous and disturbed forests in Myanmar. The elevation recorded on the Myanmar side was 600–2000 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
