The Northern Scrub Robin lives in scrub in north-eastern Australia. It often stays near the ground and nests there.
Adults are reddish brown from the head through the back and tail, with white tips on the outer tail feathers. The throat and chest are pale buff-white.
Gould described the sexes as similar and noted birds hopping among branches and near the ground. A nest on the ground at the foot of a small tree in open scrub held two eggs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
