This pardalote occurs in Australia. Gould’s early description notes a vivid orange spot before the eye, while a regional account from the southern Carnarvon Basin reports it mainly in eucalypt canopies.
Gould described a bright fiery-orange spot immediately before the eye and a bright yellow chest. He separately noted that females are less strongly colored and lack the bright yellow on the throat.
A regional account for the southern Carnarvon Basin in Western Australia reports the species mainly in the canopy of eucalypts, especially river gums.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
