A tiny bird of eucalyptus canopies, the Spotted Pardalote has a distinctive pattern of white spots. Adult males also show a red rump and yellow throat. It searches foliage for insects and sugary exudates.
The male's head, wings, and tail are black with small white spots, along with a pale eyebrow, yellow throat, and red rump. The female is similar but less distinctly marked.
It searches tree foliage for insects, especially psyllids, and sugary exudates from leaves and psyllids. During breeding season its continuous call has earned it the nickname “Headache Bird.”
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
