The Abyssinian Roller lives in dry open country in Africa. Its blue and turquoise feathers contrast with brown areas, and it catches large insects.
Blue and turquoise show on the wings and tail, with brown on the back and head. Its tail feathers are long.
From a high perch or wire, it watches the ground and catches large insects. During courtship it performs conspicuous flights in the air.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
