Turdus erythropleurus occurs on Christmas Island. The Parks Australia account treats it as a subspecies of Turdus poliocephalus under an older classification.
Parks Australia describes the bird as dark gray, with a paler gray breast and orange belly, eye-ring, and legs.
It feeds on the ground on seeds, insects, and animals such as earthworms. In the wet season it nests in low shrubs or on ledges of buildings.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
