This fossorial mole constructs underground tunnels. It ranges from north-eastern India through northern Myanmar to south-western China, and Myanmar surveys also found it in farmland and near buildings.
The surveyed moles were small, with a relatively long tail bearing whitish hairs. They had a long muzzle and a triangular hairless patch on the underside.
It lives underground and constructs tunnel networks. The Myanmar survey collected moles in a rice field and around a botanical-garden lodge; these are local records, not evidence that it always uses farmland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
