Ansell's shrew is a small shrew recorded in streamside forest in northwestern Zambia.
Its back is brown and its underside is grayish brown. The 2013 account describes the tail as about 80% of head-and-body length.
The 2013 book describes the shrew as rare, reports three specimens then known, and says little else was known about its biology.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
