The Rufous-throated Solitaire is a year-round resident of Caribbean mountain forests. It is mostly gray, with a rufous throat and white outer tail feathers; plumage varies among islands.
The upperparts are generally gray and the underparts pale gray, with rufous on the throat and vent. The outer tail feathers are white; upperpart color varies among island forms, including the Saint Vincent subspecies.
It lives in moist mountain forest and gives a whistling song that the source compares to a tin whistle.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
