The Seychelles sheath-tailed bat is a rare bat endemic to the Seychelles. A study on Silhouette Island found it roosting in small caves among boulders in lowland woodland.
Seychelles specimens have short blackish-brown to dark-brown fur on the back and belly and blackish-brown wing membranes. The species is darker than the related African sheath-tailed bat.
On Silhouette Island, it roosted in small caves in boulder fields and foraged through gaps in lowland woodland. Moths and beetles dominated the diet; beetles were strongly preferred before and during the November-to-April breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
