Saxicola amphileuca is a historical name for the Eastern Black-eared Wheatear. The current eastern species is Oenanthe melanoleuca, treated separately from the Western Black-eared Wheatear.
Males contrast a whitish back and crown with black wings and a black mask through the eye. The throat may be white or black. Females show a more muted pattern, and the black-and-white tail is conspicuous in flight.
This migratory wheatear uses shrubland and semi-open habitat and feeds on invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
