Salvadori's Teal is a small duck of the New Guinea highlands. It lives along mountain streams and fast-flowing rivers.
It is smaller than a Mallard and has mainly brown-toned plumage that blends with streamside surroundings.
It searches for aquatic invertebrates along streams and river margins, using shallow water as well as the bank.
