This large green parrot occurs in the Philippines. A 2019 taxonomic study separated the Philippine population from Tanygnathus sumatranus as T. everetti and noted blue on the back and rump and plumage differences in males.
The 2019 taxonomic study describes Philippine T. everetti with a royal-blue rump, a paler green head and duller green underparts; males have a darker green mantle and no blue on the wing coverts.
The species account reports use of forest and cultivated areas, with fruit and crops such as corn among its foods. These are listed examples, not a claim that every individual eats crops.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
