The Blue-naped Parrot is a green parrot native to Philippine islands and Indonesia's Talaud Islands. The pattern of blue on the head and back varies by subspecies.
In the nominate subspecies, adults have blue from the back of the crown to the nape and a blue wash on the back, with yellow-orange edging on the median wing coverts. Other subspecies differ in crown, nape, and back color.
It eats fruit, seeds, berries, and palm fruit, and also visits farmland near forest, coconut groves, and banana patches. It may form flocks of up to a dozen and moves between roosting and feeding areas during the day.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
