This weaver occurs in wooded edges, riverside vegetation, and gardens across sub-Saharan Africa. It eats insects as well as fruit and nectar.
It is mainly yellow, with a black marking around the eye that gives it a spectacled look. The sexes differ in dark facial and throat markings.
It gleans insects from leaves and bark and also takes fruit, nectar, and seeds in woodland edges, river vegetation, and gardens.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
