This nocturnal rodent lives in forests of north-western South America. It uses both trees and the ground, and eats fruit, seeds, other plant material, and insects.
The back is orange to reddish-brown with dark guard hairs, while the underside is creamy white. Its dark tail is longer than the body and ends in a brush of longer hairs.
It is nocturnal and uses both terrestrial and arboreal habitats, with a preference for the forest canopy. It eats fruits, seeds, other plant material, and insects, and uses tree hollows, palm leaves, or dense vegetation as daytime roosts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
