A small bird centered in west-central Namibia, with a marginal extension into Angola. It forages on the ground, and adults bring arthropods and caterpillars to nestlings.
Researchers described its coloration as cryptic and said this makes the bird difficult to locate in its rocky habitat. The study does not give a detailed color pattern.
In a 2007–08 Namibian study, adults brought millipedes, centipedes, caterpillars, and small scorpions to nestlings. Large prey was sometimes divided into smaller pieces before delivery.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
