The Bornean Mountain Ground Squirrel is a ground-dwelling squirrel of northern Borneo’s mountains. It has a relatively short bushy tail and a long, narrow muzzle.
Its coat is gray to brown, with a gray-beige chin and underside and short, rounded ears. The long muzzle and relatively short, bushy tail distinguish its appearance from other squirrels in the genus.
It forages on the ground and eats mainly insects, along with fruits, nuts, leaves, and shoots. The diet data cited in the account came from 26 individuals on Mt. Trus.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
