This shrew has been collected at Medabo in southwestern Ethiopia. One measured male had a tail longer than its head and body,and weighed5.1g.
The male sample ETH2097 measured 62.7 mm from head to body and 76.7 mm in tail; its hind foot was 14.65 mm, ear 7.9 mm and body mass 5.1 g. Its tail was longer than its head-and-body measurement.
On 9 December 2018, the male sample ETH2097 was collected at Medabo in southwestern Ethiopia. It was among bushes in grass over 1 m tall, in a wet landscape mosaic surrounded by gallery forest near the Gojeb River.
