The Ibadan Malimbe is a weaver known only from around Ibadan in southwestern Nigeria, where it uses remaining forest patches.
The male has a black body with a red forehead, crown, nape, collar, and breast. The female has a much narrower red breast-band, often more orange in tone.
It eats insects, caterpillars, winged ants, termites, and palm nuts. It searches foliage and flowers in the middle storey, often in pairs or small groups.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
