The Vivacious Gerbil has ocher-buff fur with sparse brown hairs on its back and a white belly and limbs. It inhabits arid Saharan areas, including oases and wadis. HMW 2017 records it only at two localities in southwestern Libya and notes that its taxonomic status remains controversial, with no relevant genetic data available.
The back is ocherous buff, sparsely lined with browner hairs; the belly and limbs are pure white, and white spots are present on the face.
Its habitat is arid Saharan country, including oases and wadis, which are ephemeral riverbeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
