The Large Mindoro Apomys is a large-bodied rodent described from the mountains of Mindoro in the Philippines. The 1995 account highlights its dark coat, very long tail, and slender, long snout.
The described animals had dark fur, a long slender snout, and a tail longer than the body. The paper notes that belly color ranged from similar to the back to paler buff among specimens.
The species was collected on Mount Halcon's north slope, where the survey describes wet montane forest with dense undergrowth and moss growing on trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
