The Pink-eared Duck is a small duck with white and dark brown bars, a large brown patch around the eye, and a small pink patch behind it.
The wings and back are brown, and the neck, breast, sides, and underparts have close white and dark brown bars. The head is gray, with a large brown patch around the eye and a small pink feather patch behind it.
It draws water in through the bill tip and filters out small invertebrates and microscopic plants. Pairs sometimes swim in a circle in shallow water to concentrate food in a spinning column.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
