The Andean Solitaire often lives alone in Andean forests and has a gray face and breast with a brown back.
The face, throat, and breast are dark slate gray, the back is brown, and the belly is gray. The flanks have a cinnamon-brown wash, and the lower bill can be yellow-orange.
It usually stays concealed in dense foliage and searches for food along branches and among the leaves of large and medium-sized trees. It sometimes joins mixed-species flocks when looking for fruit.
The underwing is grey with a silvery bar, and the legs and feet are dark brown.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
