A field study in Chapada dos Parecis, Brazil, repeatedly recorded the species in seasonally flooded forest and grassland beside rivers. The paper also describes a female captured in the study area.
A female captured in 2006 had dark gray-brown upperparts, wings, and tail; a brown throat, breast, and flanks; and a paler yellow-brown belly.
The Chapada dos Parecis study recorded the species at 18 sites. It was detected at 14 of 146 playback points, with records concentrated in seasonally flooded forest and grassland beside rivers.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
