The Pheasant Coucal is a large cuckoo relative with a long tail. It lives in grassland and scrub across northern and eastern Australia.
The black head, chest, and long tail contrast with chestnut wings. Females are larger than males, and plumage may change with season.
Breeding overlaps with the wet season, and a large nest is built from grass leaves within dense vegetation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
