A trogon of mature Amazonian rainforest. Males are strongly blue and green, while females are mostly gray, so the sexes look different.
The male has a green back, blue head and breast, and a yellow eye-ring. The female is dark gray with a broken white eye-ring. Both sexes have a yellow belly.
The eBird identification account describes the species as common in mature rainforest. It gives little detail on feeding or breeding, so this account is limited to the forest habitat it names.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
