The contrast between its grey head and yellow belly is striking. It catches insects in woodland and appears in Hong Kong during autumn and winter migration.
The head, throat, and upper chest are grey; the back and wings are bright green; and the belly is yellow. A thick whitish ring sits behind the eye.
It moves actively through woodland and may return to the same perch after catching an insect in flight. In Hong Kong, wintering and passage birds occur mainly from October to March.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
