The Yellow-crowned Parakeet is a green parrot that spends much of its time high in the forest canopy. Its yellow crown and crimson forehead band help identify it.
It is mainly green, with a yellow crown, a narrow crimson band above the cere, red rump spots, and a blue leading edge on the outer wing.
It eats seeds, buds, and invertebrates high in the canopy, nests in tree holes, and may form large flocks outside the breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
