This thrush lives in the canopy of lowland Amazonian forest. It has dark brown upperparts, a rufous-brown belly, and a yellow bill and eye-ring skin.
It is dark brown above and rufous brown below, with a pale center to the belly and vent. The whitish throat is streaked dark, and the bill and bare eye-ring are bright yellow.
In lowland forest in Ecuador, a nest was found in a cavity in a broken dead tree. During the brief observation, the female fed the nestlings and the male stayed nearby.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
