The Peruvian yellow-tailed woolly monkey is a primate endemic to Peru. It lives in trees and eats fruit, leaves, and other plant foods. Its long reddish-brown coat and yellow patch beneath the tail are distinctive.
Its fur is long and thick, ranging from reddish brown to darker brown. A yellow patch lies under the lower part of the tail, which can grasp branches.
It spends nearly all its time in trees and mainly eats plant foods such as fruit and leaves. Fruit becomes less available during the dry season.
