In Cuban birds, the pale forehead area is diffuse and less noticeable than the conspicuous white forehead of the related Hispaniolan Geotrygon leucometopius.
This dove is secretive and its natural history is poorly documented. In Cuba it has been recorded in woodland with pools and in wet forest bordering swamps.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
