The creeping vole is a small vole of the Pacific coast of North America. Its tiny eyes and short tail are distinctive, and it uses tunnels and burrows close to the ground.
It is the smallest vole in its geographic range. Its tail is less than 30 percent of total length, its eyes are tiny, and its short ears protrude only slightly from the fur.
It feeds on grasses and forbs at the surface and also eats underground fungi. It shelters in leaf litter, dense undergrowth, burrows, and log cavities, where it builds nests of dry grass.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
