The paramo oldfield mouse occurs in the Andes from southern Colombia into Ecuador. It has a brown back and pale underside and uses both the ground and trees at night.
The back ranges from olive-brown to reddish brown and the underside is pale gray to whitish. A cream line separates the flank from the belly, and the rounded ears are furred.
It uses forests with moist mossy ground and fallen logs and is nocturnal, moving both on the ground and in trees. It eats fruit and plants, travels through ground tunnels, and climbs into the canopy.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
