Its back is dark buffy gray with pale-buff hair tips, and its belly is gray. The outer two-thirds of the tail is white; the species is recorded in northeastern Sulawesi rain forest.
The back is dark buffy gray, with dark-gray hair bases, brownish bands, and light-buff tips. The belly is gray; the feet are dark brown above with white digits. The tail is black at the base and white over its distal two-thirds.
HMW lists tropical lowland evergreen rain forest at 600–800 m as the habitat.
