This small hummingbird has green plumage, a copper-colored belly, and white leg puffs. It lives in montane areas of Colombia's Eastern Cordillera and northwestern Venezuela.
The upperparts are green and the rump bright emerald. Its iridescent green throat and breast turn coppery at the center of the breast and on the belly; it has white feather tufts on the thighs and a blackish blue tail.
It feeds on nectar from long-corolla flowers. Bogotá's environmental observatory also lists insects in its diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
