The Cinereous Conebill occurs mainly in the Andes, reaching the coast in northern Chile and Peru. It is a small active bird of shrubbery, hedges, and gardens.
It is grayish overall, with a variable buff wash on the underparts. A white eyebrow, sharply pointed bill, and small white wing flash are useful identification marks.
It forages on fruit and flowers from low to high in shrubs, hedges, and gardens, often moving quickly through foliage. It is usually in pairs or family groups and rarely joins mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
