A parakeet of southeastern Australia. Males show a turquoise-blue face and red shoulder patch, and the birds forage near the ground for grass seeds.
Males have a green back, blue face, blue wing band, and red shoulder patch. Females are duller, with a whitish face and no red shoulder patch.
Pairs or small parties forage mostly on or near the ground for grass and shrub seeds. They nest in tree hollows, and both parents care for the chicks after hatching.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
