This honeyeater is recorded in New Caledonia’s Grand Sud Ramsar area. It searches for nectar and insects in low scrub and open ground.
It is olive-coloured, with a black band beside the eye and a curved bill.
Within this Ramsar area, the guide places it in scrub and open habitat below 300 m, rather than forest. It takes nectar and insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
