This small warbler occurs on western Mediterranean islands. It moves through low scrub and catches insects and spiders.
In fresh adult male plumage, the head, back, and chest are slate gray, with a dark face and red eye-ring. Females are browner.
It often stays hidden in low vegetation and catches small insects and spiders near the ground. Males may sing from shrubs during breeding.
